The Friends of Bishop’s Park are holding their AGM on 16th October at the Palace Gardener.
6.30pm meeting starts at 7.00pm
All are invited to join us for our AGM, there will be drinks , a chance to see what the Palace Gardener has to offer and a talk by Alex Laird on her book from Root to Stem.
‘Root to Stem is a seasonal and holistic approach to health that puts plants, herbs and nature at the heart of how we live and eat. It is a new kind of guide that links individual health to our communities and the planet’s health to sustain us all.‘
As in previous years there will be elections for each of the committee posts.
These are:
Chair: for the last year there have be co-chairs, Melanie Healy and Rowena Vaughan, who have confirmed they are happy to stand for re-election for a further year.
Deputy Chair & Secretary: Roger Weston has confirmed he is happy to stand for re-election for a further year, but will be standing down as Secretary.
Treasurer: Isobel Hill-Smith has confirmed she is happy to stand for reelection for a further year.
Other Committee Members: the current members of the committee have confirmed they are happy to stand for re-election for a further year.
Secretary: The Friends are actively seeking nominations for this position. This person would be responsible for sending out the agendas before each committee meeting 4 times per year and before the AGM. Also to be present at each meeting to take notes of proceedings to distribute. There is also a need for ad hoc help with email/mailings to the membership throughout the year (this could be due to the distribution of the newsletter to members 3 to 4 times a year also some membership matters as they arrive.
If you would like to nominate someone to stand for one of the above positions please do so by emailing the secretary at secretary.friendsofbishopspark@gmail.com naming a proposer and seconder.
